Copa del Rey: Sevilla win; Malaga stunned
Sevilla eased in the Copa del Rey round of 16 by defeating third-tier Cartagena 3-0 on Tuesday night.
Pablo Sarabia chipped the goalkeeper to open the scoring in the 25th minute, before Joaquin Correa added a second amid a scramble in the box following a quickly taken free kick.
Luis Muriel put the result beyond doubt six minutes in the second half after receiving the ball about 12 yards from goal and rounding the keeper.
Malaga's woes continued as they conceded two goals in stoppage time and crashed out 2-1 away to Segunda Division side Numancia.
Still without a win in La Liga, Malaga took the lead in the 21st minute when Jose Recio delivered a stunning free kick from the side of the box and found the far corner of the net.
But Nacho Sanchez and Alberto Escasi both delivered goals in the closing minutes to flip around the tie and put Numancia through. After Nacho's 93rd-minute equaliser, Numancia scored again in the 95th as Escasi hit the post following a set piece, then followed up to net the winner.
Valencia left it late but came away from their trip to Zaragoza with a 2-0 win.
Rodrigo Moreno headed home following a Dani Parejo corner to break the deadlock in the 81st minute, and Parejo got a goal of his own with a penalty in stoppage time after Julian Delmas fouled Nacho Gil.
In the day's only game between top-flight sides, Alaves won 1-0 away to Getafe as Christian Santos delivered an 87th-minute winner by heading home Alvaro Medran's cross.
