The Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) has postponed all 24 Copa del Rey first-round fixtures scheduled for Wednesday after a train collision in Toledo province killed at least 30 people.
Two high-speed trains collided in the area, marking the second fatal accident in less than a year on the railway line linking Madrid with southern Andalusia.
The RFEF said the matches had been called off “as a show of respect and solidarity with all the victims”. New dates for the fixtures will be announced soon.
The crash also disrupted rail services between Madrid and Andalusia, affecting the travel plans of several teams and their supporters.
