Ghana striker David Accam claims balancing commitments to club and country is becoming increasingly difficult.
The 24-year-old is line for a call-up into the Black Stars ahead of this month’s international friendly against Mali and Senegal.
The Chicago Fire new recruit claims juggling club and country duties is challenging even though he considers playing for the Black Stars an exciting challenge.
“It’s an excitement. That’s your dream. You want to represent your country. Every time you have the call-up then of course you have to leave what you are doing and go back to your country and play for them,” he said.
“When you come back to your club side that’s where you have a contract. It’s difficult but sometimes that’s what you have to do playing for both country and club.”
The former Helsingborg attacker joined Major League Soccer side Chicago Fire at the turn of the year.
He is expected to make his MLS debut for the side ahead of Saturday’s game against Vancouver Whitecaps.
