Coach Sunday Oliseh has yet to give his approval for the invitation of U-23 stars Oghenekaro Etebo and goalkeeper Emmanuel Daniel to the Eagles training camp for Championship of African Nations, it has been gathered.

Etebo was top scorer at the U-23 AFCON in Senegal with five goals, while Enugu Rangers goalkeeper Daniel also played well at the championship and they have subsequently been recommended for the country’s CHAN build-up on the back of their recent exploits.

However, Oliseh has yet to sanction their call-up, insisting on working with the 26 players he has invited for next month’s championship in Rwanda.

“It’s only Oliseh who will decide on the two U-23 stars and so far he has not done so,” Africanfootball.com quoted an Nigeria Football Federation official as saying.

Even though he is still in Belgium, Oliseh has constantly kept in touch with the Eagles training camp, dishing out daily training schedules and other relevant instructions.

Meanwhile, their teammate at the African U-23 competition, Victor Osimhen, has said he is not rushing to decide his club future.

The top scorer at the 2015 U-17 World Cup, who plays for Ultimate Strikers in Lagos and has spent time at German club Wolfsburg, is also set to visit English side Arsenal.

“The trip to Wolfsburg was interesting and I’ll be visiting Arsenal too, but I am not in a rush,” he told BBC Sport.

“I know I cannot sign a contract with any club right now but the trip to Germany and hopefully to England gives me a great opportunity to see things clearly.

“It is important not to get carried away and luckily I have my family and managers to guide me through every step when the time comes.”

Under current FIFA regulations, Osimhen is not able to sign for a European club until his 18th birthday.
