According to sources close to the Mexico City side, the Azulcremas have reached an agreement with Puebla defender Salvador Reyes, on a free transfer. The 23-year old left back had a great season with Puebla, and helped la Franja reach the semifinals of the Clausura 2021. America had been following the young defender for weeks, although they had to wait until Puebla finished play to make it official. The deal seems to be over and done, with the player set to undergo a medical examination and consequently sign his new contract in the coming days.

This promises to be only the first of a handful of transfers for America, whose declared goal is that of winning another league title in the upcoming Apertura, but to do so they will have to overcome fierce competitors like Tigres, Cruz Azul, Monterrey and Chivas.
