Nigeria's Christian Nwachukwu contributed greatly as Bulgarian Cup champions Botev Plovdiv started their season with a win over Botev Vratsa, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.

Nwachukwu continued his fine form after scoring one and assisting another in Botev's win in the Europa League by assisting two goals as they won 3-1 away from home.

After a drought of goals in the first half, Nwachukwu set up Martin Seculic twice for the opener on 54 minute and and the second on 57 minute.

Daniel Genov pulled one back for the hosts on 60 minute to make it 2-1 before Yanis Karabelyov consolidated victory for Botev on 77 minute.

Nwachukwu's compatriots Ehije Ukaki and Samuel Akere played for 90 minutes and 32 minutes respectively in the game.
