Nigeria's Chrisantus Uche has scored in his maiden season of the Spanish La Liga for Getafe against Athletic Club on Thursday night, Nigeriasoccernet.com can report.

He scored the equaliser for Getafe as they started their season campaign with draw away from home at the at the San Mames.

Uche a natural central midfielder who played as a force nine cancelled a 27 minute goal by Oihan Sancet in the 64th minute.

He perfected a header into the bottom corner from 10 yards out to seal a 1-1 draw.

The 21-year-old played in Owerri two years ago before moving to AD Cuerta FC, a  third division side in Spain before his move to Getafe.

He is the third Nigerian to star for the club after Peter Etebo and Ikechukwu Uche.
