Chris Sutton hails ‘important’ Chelsea win after 5-1 victory over Bournemouth

Chelsea made a strong return to Premier League action with a convincing 5-1 win over Bournemouth.

Former striker Chris Sutton described the result as an important victory for Chelsea. Sutton enjoyed a successful partnership with Alan Shearer during the 1990s and was speaking after the Blues’ emphatic success.

Chelsea took full advantage of their return to the top flight, scoring five times against Bournemouth and giving their supporters plenty to celebrate.

The club’s next Premier League fixture will be away to Everton.
