English Premier League giants, Chelsea have appointed former Nigeria international, Seyi Olofinjana as a talent ID role for Africa, Nigeriasoccernet.com has gathered.

The remit of the new role at Chelsea will cover recruitment recommendations across the region, working in conjunction with a newly-appointed scout that will cover Africa.

The former Wolves player was the Sporting Director of Swiss side, Grasshopper Club Zurich, a role he left after a year.

According to report, Chelsea want to cover Africa in best way possible with scouting and appointments are now completed.

The ex Nigeria international  has a degree in engineering, a Master's in Project Management, and holds a UEFA pro coaching license.

In 2015 after retiring from playing football, he started working with Wolves Academy in the EPL, and in 2019 became Loan Pathway Manager at the club.
