Charitable Ghana midfielder Agyemang-Badu supports Seikwa community to assess potable water
Black Stars midfielder Emmanuel Agyemang-Badu has extended his charitable arms to the Seikwa Community in the Brong Ahafo region after paying off a decade-old debt owed the community's water supply body.
The generous act will ensure that over over 200,000 community dwellers in the rural area - a suburb of Berekum in the Brong Ahafo region will be able to assess potable water.
Seikwa and its dwellers have been deprived of good drinking water for close to half a decade after lines supplying water to the community were disconnected due to bills owed the company in charge of water.
The Udinese star, who is on international assignment with the Black Stars, learnt of the plight of the community through his mother and immediately issued out a $2,500 (GHC10,000) cash to cover about 90% of the debt and pledged to pay off the remaining $900 in the coming days.
"It is good to support our people. We must give back to the community and support them especially when it comes to basic amenity that will let them grow," the Black Stars midfielder said.
Each year, tens of thousands of Ghana Cedis come from the Ghana enforcer's paychecks to go toward supporting various causes throughout the country.
