At all levels of football and beyond, the rivalry between Nigeria and Ghana remains one of the historical battles on the African continent and it's set to be ignited when Chan Eagles of Nigeria square up against Ghana for the upcoming TotalEnergies CHAN 2024 qualifiers, Nigeriasoccernet.com writes.

The draw has pitted regional rivals against each other in a series of highly anticipated clashes.

Several notable teams, including Sierra Leone, Benin, and Somalia, were eliminated in the first round. However, strong contenders like Togo, Liberia, and Burundi advanced to the final stage.

The highlight of the draw is the renewal of the historic rivalry between Ghana and Nigeria. Another captivating West African derby will see Guinea and Guinea-Bissau battle for supremacy.

Defending champions Senegal will face a tough test against Liberia, while Cameroon's Indomitable Lions are set to clash with the Central African Republic. Cote d'Ivoire and Burkina Faso will also lock horns in a high-stakes West African showdown.

Each tie will be played over two legs, with the winners advancing to the CHAN finals, which will be held in Kenya, Uganda, and Tanzania from February 1st to 28, 2025.

The final qualifying round is scheduled for December 2024, with the first legs to be played between December 20-22 and the return legs between December 27-29.
