Anders Konradsen heads in the opener for Rosenborg against Linfield
Linfield bowed out of the Champions League on a 6-0 aggregate scoreline after a 4-0 qualifier defeat by Rosenborg in Norway on Wednesday.
Anders Konradsen headed in on 20 minutes and the striker made it 2-0 with a volley early in the second half.
Substitute David Akintola added the third with a close-range finish and Pal Andre Helland fired in at the near-post to complete a comfortable win.
Irish League winners Linfield drop into the Europa League qualifiers.
David Healy's side will make the trip to the Faroe Islands to take on HB Torshavn in the second-round first leg next Tuesday.
A 2-0 defeat in Belfast last week left the Blues with a huge task at the Lerkendal Stadion and despite a brave effort they were once again outclassed by the Norwegians.

Shayne Lavery, Chris Chrisment and Jordan Stewart had first-half efforts for the visitors but the main danger came at the other end.
Konradsen got on the end of Vegar Hedenstad corner for the opener while Helland hit the side-netting and Yann-Erik de Lanlay volleyed over.
Matthew Clarke rifled over for the Blues on the restart before Konradsen struck again with his scissor-kick finish bouncing high into the net from a Helland cut-back on 50 minutes.
A defensive blunder let in the hosts for their third - goalkeeper Gareth Deane blocked a shot after his pass out was intercepted, but the ball ballooned up to give Akintola a simple finish after 69 minutes.
The impressive Helland, who had earlier struck the bar from a free-kick, tucked home the fourth from Akintola's pinpoint cross.
Rosenborg's reward is a second-round Champions League qualifier against BATE Borisov or Piast Gliwice.
