Celtic defender Efe Ambrose scores in Super Eagles win over Swaziland
Celtic defender Efe Ambrose has certainly been a maligned character at Parkhead for some time.
The Nigerian has put in some questionable performances over the past 12 months after initially impressing after joining the club from Ashdod in Israel three years ago.
The 27-year-old has however remained a vital member of the Nigeria first-team during his time at Celtic.
He featured for the Super Eagles today in their clash with Swaziland. Nigeria won the game 2-0 with a goal from Genk forward Moses Simon and, Ambrose.
The defender has not scored a goal fir Celtic since April 2014, when he netted against Inverness in a 6-0 triumph from the Scottish side.
Ambrose volleyed in from close range after a decent delivery from a free-kick. He then went on to pull off his famous and acrobatic celebration.
It was the fourth time he has scored for his country and the first in over a year.
The defender's late strike assured Nigeria of a 2-0 aggregate win against Swaziland in their World Cup play-off match.
