Carrick dismisses doubts over Lisandro Martinez’s commitment to Manchester United

Manchester United head coach Carrick has backed Lisandro Martinez and said he has no doubts about the defender’s commitment to the club.

Martinez has faced heavy criticism after being sent off in the match against Chelsea. His dismissal has intensified scrutiny around the Argentina international, who made a series of critical comments about Manchester United’s leadership last October.

Those remarks were followed by reports that Martinez could leave the club, but Carrick rejected any suggestion that the defender’s dedication was in question.

“I have no doubts about his commitment,” Carrick said.

Manchester United will face Roma on 3 November in their fourth match of the UEFA Champions League league phase.
