Portuguese right-back Joao Cancelo is relishing the challenge of establishing himself at Manchester City, having completed his move from Juventus.

The 25-year-old Portugal international has signed a six-year contract with the Citizens, with Brazilian defender Danilo moving in the opposite direction as part of the deal.

The way the team have been playing in the last few years attracted me the most.

Joao Cancelo

Cancelo had only spent one season with Juve, having previously played for Inter Milan, Valencia and Benfica.

He has won 14 caps for Portugal to date, scoring three goals, but he missed out on selection for the World Cup finals in Russia just over a year ago.

Cancelo told his new club's official website: "The way I see football, City are almost a perfect team. I think the way they play is amazing. They are always attacking, yet defending at the same time and always with high pressure.

"The way the team have been playing in the last few years attracted me the most.

"I'm a very offensive right-back, I enjoy going forward and that's this team's style. I consider myself a very technical player and I believe I suit this style of play.

"I know that there are great players for each position and that the competition is also very high. In my opinion, the best players excel in this environment - this is what I came here to show."

City, who are chasing a third consecutive Premier League title this season, open their league campaign with a visit to the London Stadium to take on West Ham this Saturday.

They are 2/9 to get off to a winning start and 13/2 to secure a 2-0 victory over the Hammers, with Sergio Aguero 8/13 to score at any time in the game.
