Reigning champions USM Alger overturned their first-leg defeat to Nigeria's Rivers United with a 2-1 aggregate win on Sunday, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.

Mali forward Abdoulaye Kanou bagged a brace in Algiers to end the Pride of Rivers dream of a semi final berth at the Stade du 5-Juillet-1962.

Kanou broke the deadlock after 37 minute of play to end the first 45 1-0 for the hosts.

Kanou doubled the lead on 75 minute to give the reigning champions the victory at the end.

With the win, USM Alger will play RS Berkane of Morocco in the semi final with the first leg on 21 April in Algiers while the second leg will be played a week later in Berkane.
