Buruk Hails Osimhen’s Influence After Derby Heroics
Victor Osimhen has been praised by Okan Buruk for his outstanding impact following Galatasaray S.K.’s emphatic victory over Fenerbahçe S.K., Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.
The Nigerian striker made a strong return to the starting lineup on Sunday after recovering from injury, marking his comeback with the opening goal in a dominant 3-0 win at RAMS Park.
Osimhen nearly doubled his tally early in the second half, but his effort was ruled out for offside. Despite that, the 27-year-old continues to underline his importance, having now scored 20 goals across all competitions this season.
Speaking after the match, Buruk highlighted the forward’s overall influence, describing him as a player who elevates the performance of those around him.
“Osimhen is valuable and important for us. He’s a character who raises the level of his teammates,” Buruk stated.
“Today was his 17th start in the league, and he has almost not played half of the matches. Everyone performed well, but especially Osimhen and Yunus stood out. I would pick them as the men of the match.”
Osimhen’s return comes at a crucial stage of the campaign, with Galatasaray pushing strongly for domestic success as the season enters its decisive phase.
