Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes could leave the club during the winter transfer window, according to El Nacional.

Relations between the Portugal midfielder and head coach Michael Carrick are reportedly deteriorating. Manchester United’s hierarchy has backed Carrick, while Fernandes is no longer regarded as untouchable by the club.

Several clubs from Saudi Arabia are said to be interested in signing the 32-year-old.

Fernandes previously criticised the Manchester United manager, adding to the reported tension between the player and Carrick.

The midfielder has played 11 matches in all competitions this season, scoring four goals and providing one assist.

Fernandes’ contract with Manchester United runs until June 2027.
