Bruce excited by Saint-Maximin
Steve Bruce has revealed his delight Newcastle United managed to secure the services of Allan Saint-Maximin from Nice.
The north-east outfit were linked with the French winger for a number of weeks but the Magpies finally got a deal over the line on Friday and have splashed £16.5m on the wide man.
New Toon boss Bruce, who left Sheffield Wednesday this summer to join Newcastle, feels the club have secured a real talent in Saint-Maximin and says he can see the 22-year-old lighting up the Premier League.
Bruce said: "I'm delighted to bring Allan to St. James' Park. He is a very talented young player with a big future ahead of him.
"He has all the attributes you would want in an attacking player, including lightning pace, so I'm sure he'll excite everybody.
"He is a great addition to Newcastle United and the Premier League."
Saint-Maximin has put pen to paper on a six-year deal and will wear the number 10 jersey for Newcastle’s opening game against Arsenal on 11th August.
Newcastle are 7/2 to win, 13/5 to draw and 4/5 to lose at the hands of the Gunners next weekend.
