Defending champions of the Betsy Obaseki Woman Football pre- session BOWFT, Edo Queens Football Club of Benin today confirmed their superiority over their opponent Abia Angels FC of Umuahia in 4-0 win in the quarter final game played at the University of Benin Sports Complex, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.

Edo Queens prolific winger Chioma Moses scored the twice, while Emem Essien and Folashade Ijamilusi made it four for the WAFU-B Champion side.

The Ladies from Abia State fought hard in the second half of the encounter to reduce the tally, but Yellow jersey girls were just to hot for the Umuahia Ladies to handle.

In recent months, Edo Queens have been tipped as the club mostly likely to make Nigeria proud as they build to have Nigeria flag hoisted at the forthcoming continental showpiece.

The highly motivated women team who are currently the reigning champions of the Nigeria Women Football League NWFL have so far proven to their fans that they have all it takes to be winners of this pre- season tournament.

In the three matches played so far, Edo Queens did fantastically well, to reach the semifinal, Edo Queens drew 0-0 with FC Robo Queens of Lagos in their first encounter, went on to beat Remo Stars Ladies 2-1 and humiliated Abia Angels 4-0 in the quarter final game to book a space to the semifinals.

With the rating of Edo Queens, there are possibilities and opportunities for the team to sail home at the end of the competition with the trophy. Their best and surest route to the finals will be for them to beat whoever comes their way in the semi's, once that is done, the rest is history.

The competition have also given them an opportunity to have a first class preparations for the CAF Women's Champions League fiesta which comes up next month.

With this impressive results Edo Queens are confident that the trophy and star prize money of ten million will not leave Edo State.
