AFC Bournemouth coach Eddie Howe believes the side will profit from the immense potential of Christian Atsu following the Ghana winger’s loan switch.

The newly promoted English top tier side have secured the 23-year-old on a season’s long loan deal from Chelsea pending the Premier League’s approval.

This will be the third successive loan stint for the Ghana international since joining Chelsea in 2013 from FC Porto.

Atsu is hoping to benefit from regular first team action – something he found very difficult to come by last term at Everton.

But Bournemouth coach Eddie Howe believes the side is getting a top notch player due to his trajectory so far in his professional career.

“I think he is a player, although he is a younger player, he is a player with outstanding experience when you look at his career he has had,” he said.

“He has had a lot thrown at him – Porto, Vitesse, Chelsea, on the international stage - and he’s done very well on the international stage as well.

“We are loaning a player of huge potential, again we had to fight off several other Premier League clubs to get him, so we are very, very pleased.

“I think he will bring pace and ability to beat a man one-v-one which is very important in the Premier League, so for all those reasons I think he is a great signing for us.”
