Ghana U23 head coach Malik Jabir has included Birmingham City prodigious talent Koby Arthur in his 28-man preliminary squad for the 2015 All African Games.
Birmingham are poised to reject Ghana's invitation to the 19-year-old as manager Gary Rowett has ideas of building his team around the former Liberty Professionals starlet.
Arthur, who recently inked a fresh two-year-contract at the St Andrew's Stadium, is already on pre-season tour with Birmingham and will not be permitted to abandon training with the Blues to travel to Brazzaville - Congo for the tournament.
Jabir's choice of foreign-based stars could cause him to do a late alteration to his squad as European clubs are likely to refuse him the services of the players due to pre-season campaign.
Serbian side Cukaricki will also deny former Asante Kotoko second team midfielder Obeng Regan the opportunity to travel for the games which Ghana go in as title-holders after lifting the last edition under former head coach Kwesi Appiah.
Former Inter Milan youth team player Said Ahmed Said, born in Kumasi, might join the squad should Genoa allow him to leave.
Enoch Ebo Andoh, Portland Timber's Abdul Fatawu Safiu and former AIK midfielder Moro Ibrahim are all listed in a 9-man list for the game.
