Midfielder Philip Billing is looking forward to remaining in the Premier League after leaving Huddersfield Town to join up with Bournemouth.

The 23-year-old Denmark Under-21 international has exited the relegated Terriers for an undisclosed fee, signing a long-term contract with the Cherries.

This is an exciting step forward for me and I can't wait to get started.

Philip Billing

Billing had spent the whole of his senior career to date with Town, helping the club secure promotion to the Premier League in 2017, before making 43 top-flight appearances across the following two seasons.

However, with Huddersfield relegated back to the Championship at the end of last term, Billing has opted to move on and try to establish himself at Dean Court.

He told his new club's official website: "I'm delighted to become a Bournemouth player. As soon as I heard of the interest, there was never any doubt in my mind.

"It was an easy decision to make to come into a squad which is full of talented, international players and work with a manager of Eddie Howe's quality.

"This is an exciting step forward for me and I can't wait to get started."

He becomes the third signing made by Bournemouth so far this summer, with defensive duo Lloyd Kelly and Jack Stacey recruited from Bristol City and Luton Town respectively.

The Cherries, who ended in 14th place in the Premier League last season, are 11/4 to secure a finish in the top half of the table this term, while they are 2/7 to end up in the bottom half of the standings.
