Chief Executive Officer of Berekum Chelsea Nana Kwame Nketia insists the club will not be going out of its way to win the Premier League.

The Blues on the blind side of everyone have worked their way into becoming real title contenders by cutting AshGold’s lead at the top of the First Capital Plus League to just two.

Chelsea are one of the most inform sides in the Ghanaian top flight – having won four of their last six games and looking very dangerous.

But the club’s chief says their focus is not on overtaking AshGold to win the league due to the immense costs associated with it.

“As at now, only AshGold is ahead of us and it is a league so we aim to compete favourably,” he said.

“We will not be going out of our way to try and move to the top or win the league because that its own pressures and expenses.

“Sometimes you even have to double bonuses of players and we don’t have enough resources for that.

“So we will just remain competitive and see how far it takes us.”
