Bendel Insurance technical adviser Kennedy Boboye says his side are capable of securing a positive result against Kwara United in Sunday’s Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) fixture at the Rashidi Yekini Stadium in Ilorin.

The Benin Arsenals have lost every away match they have played this season and will be aiming to end that run when they face Kwara United in the Matchday 11 encounter.

Insurance travel to Ilorin with renewed confidence after beating NPFL leaders Rivers United 2-1 last weekend. The result ended Rivers United’s unbeaten start to the campaign and provided another boost to Bendel Insurance’s strong home form.

The Benin club had also previously ended Barau FC’s unbeaten run, underlining their effectiveness in front of their home supporters. Their performances away from home, however, have not produced the same results, with Sunday’s match offering another opportunity to change that record.

Boboye expects progress

Boboye said his team would continue working to improve and remained hopeful of returning from Ilorin with a positive outcome.

“We will keep pushing. Nothing is impossible. The league is still fresh. We are going to Kwara in our next game; we will see what happens,” he told the club’s media.

The coach welcomed the progress made by his players after their victory over Rivers United, while acknowledging the challenge of producing a similar performance on the road.

“I am happy. We are getting better, and hopefully, we get a positive result in Ilorin,” Boboye added.

Bendel Insurance have taken 15 points from nine matches and are currently ninth in the NPFL table. Sunday’s meeting with Kwara United will give them the chance to improve both their league position and their away record.
