Goalkeeper Asmir Begovic says he is determined to fight for game time and has no current plans to leave Bournemouth this summer.

Artur Boruc and Mark Travers found themselves favoured towards the end of the last Premier League season and there were some suggestions Begovic could be moved on to pastures new.

However, the 32-year-old is adamant he is happy with life at the Vitality Stadium and says he will be working hard in pre-season to make sure he is in manager Eddie Howe's plans for the new campaign.

He told the Daily Star: "I'm fresh, recharged and ready for another gruelling season.

"I'll be reporting back with the priority to prove to the boss I'm there to compete for the keeper's shirt against Sheffield United on the opening weekend."

He added: "I'm happy at Bournemouth. I have three years left on my contract and nobody has told me officially I'm surplus to requirements.

"But, of course, at this stage of my career, I do want to be playing as many games as possible."

Bournemouth are 7/2 to finish in the top half of the table in the 2019/20 season.
