Former champions, Bayelsa Queens served newbies, Benue Queens another baptism of fire as Adamawa Queens thrashed another former champions in the Nigeria Women Football League match day 3, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.

Bayelsa Queens put league debutants, Benue Queens to the sword, defeating them by 5-1 to record their second win of the season at the Samson Siasia Stadium.

Chinwe Akabike opened score in the 17th minutes before Amblessed Ogbonnaya doubled the lead in the 20th minutes. Vera Samuel rounded off the score in the first half to 3-0 after 33rd minutes goal.

Ogbonnaya scored her second of the day to make it 4-0 in the 47th minutes. Anastasia Emefo reduced the deficit in the 54th minutes but Rita Uduakabong 87th minutes strike sealed a 5-1 win for Bayelsa Queens.

Afensimi Omon scored a hattrick, one in the first and two others in the second half as Adamawa Queens ease past 2023 champions, Delta Queens.

Her first came at the struck of half time before she scored the second and third in the 60'th and 75th minutes respectively.

Shobowale Olusola 29th minutes goal saw Nasarawa Amazons beat a struggling Confluence Queens away from home.

Heartland Queens and Abia Angels shared the spoils with a goalless draw at the Dan Ayam Stadium.

Naija Ratels came from behind to beat Ibom Angels 2-1 in Abuja. Ugobest Osuji struck first for the visitors in the 6th minutes, but Glory Sunday's goal in the 72nd and 'Tea-Bee Rita in the 83rd minutes ensured the win.

Ekiti Queens defeated Dannaz Ladies 2-0 courtesy of goals from Seun Fakunle in the 36th minutes and Tobi Sarafa in the 55th minutes.
