Bayelsa Queens players have received a cash reward of ?400,000 each after emerging champions of the 2025 Nigeria Women's Football League (NWFL).

Led by coach Whyte Ogbonda, the Prosperity Girls secured the title dominantly with a 4-1 win over Naija Ratels in their final NWFL Super Six playoff match in Ikenne on Saturday.

Bayelsa Queens finished top of the standings with 10 points from five games, lifting the NWFL title for a record sixth time.

In recognition of their achievement, the Bayelsa State government has pledged to host the team and officials in Yenagoa, with more celebrations planned for their triumphant return.

As NWFL champions, Bayelsa Queens will go on to represent Nigeria in the WAFU B Champions League qualifiers later this year, as they seek to make a mark on the continental stage.
