South Africa stunned the defending champions of the Africa Women Cup Of Nations the Super Falcons of Nigeria by beating them 1-0 in the opening game of the Africa Women Championship taking place in Ghana.

Nigeria were guilty of wasting so many begging chances to take the lead and they were made to pay for their wastefulness five minutes to full time when a stunning volley from a striker of South Africa nestled into the net of Nigeria.

The goal ended as the match winner as South Africa claim their first win over Nigeria in the history of the Africa Women Cup of Nations and condemned Nigeria to opening defeat in their first group game of group B.
