Barcelona to rotate squad heavily after international break, says Flick plan
Barcelona manager Hansi Flick is expected to make significant changes to his starting line-up after the international break as his side prepares for a demanding run of two matches a week.
According to Barca Universal, players who have had limited first-team opportunities are set to receive more time on the pitch. Those in line for increased involvement include Gabriel Jesus, Hamza Abdelkarim and Brian Farinas.
Flick is also likely to rest captain Raphinha in Barcelona’s next La Liga fixture against Getafe on 10 October. The decision would form part of a wider plan to manage the squad during a particularly busy period.
Barcelona face five matches in October, beginning with the home meeting with Getafe. They then travel to face Galatasaray on 13 October and Real Betis on 17 October.
The Spanish club’s schedule continues with an away game against Paris Saint-Germain on 20 October, before the month’s final fixture against Real Madrid at home on 25 October.
The planned rotation would give fringe players an opportunity to contribute while allowing regular starters to be managed across the congested run of domestic and European matches.
