Raphinha’s impressive start to the new season, including his deployment as a centre-forward, has prompted Barcelona to prepare a reward for the Brazil international.

The club are planning to extend Raphinha’s contract by a further year, keeping him at Barcelona until the end of the 2028-29 season, according to El Nacional.

The proposed agreement would also significantly improve his salary. Raphinha could earn 27m euros a year before tax, compared with his current annual salary of 16m euros before deductions.

Under the reported terms, Raphinha would match Rodri as Barcelona’s highest-paid player and move ahead of Lamine Yamal.
