Barcelona president Laporta explains why Julian Alvarez transfer collapsed

Barcelona president Joan Laporta has discussed the negotiations with Atletico de Madrid over a proposed move for Argentina forward Julian Alvarez, after the deal failed to go through.

Laporta addressed the breakdown in talks with the Madrid club, whose position in the negotiations was described as that of an aggrieved party.

Alvarez’s market value is €120m. The Argentina international’s contract with Atletico de Madrid runs until the end of June 2030.
