Barcelona plan new deal for Gerard Martin with €100m release clause

Barcelona are planning to extend left-back Gerard Martin’s contract and increase his release clause to €100m, according to Goal, citing Mundo Deportivo.
The Catalan club are keen to secure Martin’s future and are prepared to reward him with an improved salary as part of the proposed new agreement.
Barcelona manager Hansi Flick has faith in the 24-year-old’s ability and is believed to support the plans to keep him at the club.
Fabrizio Romano also reports that the two sides have reached a preliminary agreement over the contract. However, formal meetings to discuss the renewal have not yet begun.
Martin has made 97 appearances for Barcelona, scoring one goal and providing seven assists.
