Bale still has Real 'responsibilities'
Zinedine Zidane has reminded Gareth Bale he still has 'his responsibilities' with the La Liga club despite ongoing doubts about his future.
The Wales forward was apparently pictured playing golf during Real Madrid's Audi Cup game with Tottenham earlier this week.
The 30-year-old was reportedly going to be paid £1m per week in a lucrative move to China, before Real Madrid blocked the deal last weekend as they are seeking a transfer fee.
You are not going to put me in a position that I don't want to be in.
Zinedine Zidane
Zidane has insisted Bale isn't part of his plans at the club, but he says the former Spurs man must continue to be professional.
Asked about the pictures, reportedly taken just after Real lost to Tottenham in a pre-season friendly in Germany this week, Zidane said: "I don't know.
"You are telling me something that has surely happened. I'm here with my players, and I'm not going to comment on that.
"I hope he trained there. We are here, thinking about the team."
Real beat Turkish side Fenerbahce in the Audi Cup on Wednesday 5-3 and Bale's name was the hot topic – yet again – for Zidane afterwards.
"I will not prevent someone from doing something. He has to look after his responsibilities," he added.
"We will see what he has done in Madrid. I will not get into his personal life. But I think he has done training.
"I will not tell you if it (Bale's professionalism) is disrespectful.
"You are not going to put me in a position that I don't want to be in. I will not answer anything more than that."
Bale joined the Spanish giants in 2013 from Tottenham and has made over 200 appearances for the club, helping them win the Champions League four times as well as the La Liga title in 2017 and the Copa del Rey in 2014.
Real Madrid are 13/8 to win La Liga this season, with Barcelona 8/13 and Atletico Madrid 12/1.
