Taiwo Awoniyi has joined his Nottingham Forest teammates at their pre-season training base in Spain, after recovering from his latest injury setback, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.

The striker's return to full fitness comes as a welcome relief, given Forest manager Nuno Espirito Santo's recent concerns that Awoniyi could miss the entire pre-season due to injury.

Awoniyi is now expected to feature in the club's upcoming friendlies against Millwall and Elche, a significant boost for the Tricky Trees ahead of the new season.

The 26-year-old has struggled with injuries since joining Nottingham Forest, missing 17 games in his first season due to a groin problem and 18 games in his second season due to the same issue.
