Ghana defender Awal Mohammed is playing his first game for Al Shabab in their Asian Champions League game away to Asamoah Gyan’s Al Ain.
The 26-year-old joined the Saudi Arabian club while on international duty with the Black Stars at the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations.
Awal reported to train with his side almost a fortnight ago having signed the contract following a successful medical.
The former Maritzburg United center half has however been given the herculean task of marking deadly compatriot Asamoah Gyan - who is also starting for Al Ain - on his debut for Al Shabab.
The White Lions hope to secure a good result in their opening group game of this season’s Asian Champions League away to UAE giants Al Ain.
Fellow Ghanaian striker John Antwi is also in Al Shabab's starting line up for Tuesday's clash at the Hazza Bin Zayed Stadium.
