Black Stars coach Avram Grant will play an advisory role for the country’s Under-20 team ahead of the 2015 African Youth Championship.

The Israeli has returned to Ghana after helping the Black Stars achieve a silver medal feat at the recently concluded Africa Cup of Nations in Equatorial Guinea.

The 60-year-old is expected to supervise the technical direction of the team ahead of their involvement in the competition slated for Senegal next month.

“He (Grant) will be with the Under-20 team at the African championship in March to observe them, to also help them to improve during that tournament,” Ghana FA Communication Director Ibrahim Sannie told Metro TV.

The Black Satellites will play against South Africa, Zambia and Mali in group B.

The team will travel to Turkey for a two-week intensive training camp before flying to Senegal for the start of the championship between March 8-22, 2015.

Whilst it’s good for AG to play advisory role for the Satellites,it is also important his role doesn’t undermine the work of Silas Tetteh.Silas Tetteh has been part of the U20 set up for many years and should have exclusive role in the U20 set up. I don’t see why Avram Grant playing an advisory role will help. What the FA and Avram Grant should be thrashing out is the issue of the senior players. Should they be allowed back in the team? What about Kwaserey? The Black Stars need a competent goalkeeper,Kwaserey is the one. Some of the players in the current set up may/are not be up scratch; we have to find competent replacements this is what the coach should be working on.

Thats great cuz Ghana has always struggle with strikers though we have produced some of the worlds greatest midfielders and its was so hard to understand why we always struggle to perform in touranmemts till GRANT ARRIVED ON THE SCENES! The guy simply has find an antidote to our abysmal performances thru his PRESSING GAME! With this tactics employed by him, we can press the opposition with our strong midfield players, which we have in abundance whiles our strikers take a breadth like it happened in the afcon!!! Ghana, was miraculously the higher scoring country in the afcon and guess what, the goals didn't only came from the strikers or gyan but from all over and this is a testament to the fact that, the PRESSING GAME IS OUR ANSWER! Now, we should rely on strikers for goals base on grant PRESSING GAME tactics but rather we should employ our midfield to break down the opposition defence WITHIN THE FIRST TEN MINS OF EVERY GAME and we ll be home and dry! African teams are highly susceptible to PRESSING GAMES AND BREAK DOWN EASILY WITHIN THE FIRST TEN MINS and the truth is what we witnessed during our afcon games against south Africa, guinea, eq guinea, Algeria and even I.COAST!! We pressed them hard with wakaso and acquah and they lost concentration so easily it was like watching an amateur team playing! The Arabs esp Egypt were the masters of the PRESSING GAMES and it seems Ghana can do far more better!! We should let GRANT TEACH THE KIDS THIS SYSTEM and am 100% that we are on our way to win more laurels and trophies even at the WC!!! GRANT PRESSING GAME HAS COME TO STAY AND OUR LOCAL COACHES SHOULD TAKE ADV TO LEARN FROM IT!!

This is a silly idea ! He should concentrate on the Black Stars and get to know our players eg. Boakye Yiadom, Banahene and Anthony Annan. There is a Fifa friendly date in March, he should be organising a friendly for fringe players.
