Atletico Madrid have received a boost ahead of their LaLiga return, with Ademola Lookman and Alexander Sorloth back in training before the visit to Alaves on October 10th.

The match will be Diego Simeone’s side’s first since the extended FIFA international break. Atletico Madrid went into the pause second in LaLiga, behind Barcelona, after winning five of their opening seven matches in the 2026/27 campaign.

Sorloth has not played this season because of a long-standing muscular problem. The Norway forward could now be considered for some involvement against Alaves, although Lookman is further ahead in his recovery.

Lookman was released from Nigeria’s squad as a precaution because of an injury. His return to training gives Atletico Madrid a stronger chance of having him available for the trip to the Basque Country.

Alejandro Grimaldo has yet to return to training and will not be available. Pablo Barrios will also miss the match.
