"?Aston Villa's new owner Tony Xia has taken to Twitter to reassure supporters that Jordan Ayew and Jordan Amavi will still be at the club by time the season kicks off.

Ayew and Amavi have both been linked with a move away from Villa Park, but Xia has insisted that neither will be sold this transfer window.

Ayew and Amavi will definitely stay! We'll get striker but be confident with the manager team knowing what to do! https://t.co/GuNrblYukc

Ayew finished as Aston Villa's top scorer of the 2015/16 season, registering seven goals after the forward signed for the Villains last July from Ligue 1 outfit Lorient in a £12m deal.

Amavi was not able to make much impact, however, after missing most of the season because of a knee injury he picked up on international duty.

Despite Xia's reluctance to sell, Amavi has still be linked with a move to Liverpool, as manager Jurgen Klopp looks to continue rebuilding his squad after finishing 8th in the Premier League last season.

The Merseyside club announced the signing of Georginio Wijnaldum from Newcastle in a £25m deal on Friday, while the Reds also confirmed the arrival of Saido Mane from Southampton last month.

Liverpool have also added the likes of Loris Karius and Ragnar Klavan to their ranks, but Klopp is believed to still be in the market for a left-back with many seeing Alberto Moreno as surplus to requirements after a series of lacklustre performances last term.

As a result, Liverpool had been linked with Amavi, who impressed in the appearances he made for Aston Villa before he got injured, but it appears the Frenchman will be going nowhere.
