Aston Villa manager Tim Sherwood has hailed the versatility of new striker Jordan Ayew.

The 23-year-old joined Villa on a five-year deal from French side Lorient.

The Ghana international is yet to settle in the squad and put up decent performances during their pre-season friendly games.

But manager Tim Sherwood has been delighted with the versatility of the former Marseille man.

'Jordan can play a number of positions. He can play on the left side of the attack or as a No.9," he told the club;s official website

Jordan has good pace and strength. His all-round game is what we're looking for. He's at a very good age with a good pedigree. We think we have a star in the making there.'
