Asante Kotoko have moved to quickly quash media reports gaining currency that the club will appoint a technical director.

Last week, German trainer whose identity has been disclosed as Thomas Muller was spotted at the Kumasi Airport with a Kotoko benefactor Dr. Kwaku Frimpong and that fuelled speculations.

But the club’s spokesperson Kwaku Ahenkorah has told the club’s official website that Muller’s arrival in Kumasi has nothing to do with the club.

“Those reports are far from the truth. We didn’t bring him and he’s also not here because of Kotoko. As far as we know, Dr. Kwaku Frimpong of Champion Divine Clinic brought him. They are business partners. Therefore reports about the coach coming to Kotoko should be ignored,” he said.

Kotoko finished the season in sixth place after being docked six points for fielding an unqualified player against Hearts of Oak in the derby clash.
