Asante Kotoko goalkeeper Isaac Amoako is facing a lengthy spell on the sidelines after picking up a knee injury.

The veteran custodian landed awkwardly and hurt his knee at training last Friday ahead of the final Ghana Premier League match against Aduana Stars at home.

He is expected to undergo thorough scans this week to ascertain the extent of the injury.

"The goalie himself heard a snap sound in the knee. That is what the team doctor Kwaku Boateng told me,” the club’s Communications Manager Kwaku Ahenkorah confirmed.

Prior to the start of the just ended league season, Amoako sustained a similar injury which kept him out for months.

Amoako is the oldest player at Kotoko- after playing in his ninth season.
