Asamoah Gyan scored in successive games for Shanghai SIPG as they beat rivals Shanghai Shenhua 2-1 on Sunday to avenge their FA Cup defeat.

The Ghana captain leveled for SIPG on 65 minutes when he threaded a low ball into the net after a lovely control and turn inside the box.

Tim Cahil opened the scoring in the 19th minute for Shenhua who were playing at home.

But Ke Shi snatched the winner for Gyan’s side with 18 minutes left on the clock.

Gyan was on target in their 3-3 draw with Shenhua in midweek but had to be eliminated 5-4 on penalties.

Shanghai SIPG are on top of the table with a one-point lead with six matches to the end of the season.
