MANCHESTER -- Mikel Arteta is close to finalising a deal to become Arsenal's new manager,  Pep Guardiola has said.

Arteta was not at training with Manchester City on Friday morning and Guardiola says the Spaniard will become Arsenal's new boss once the final details are ironed out.

"He's in London, close to finishing the deal with Arsenal, that's what I know," said Guardiola.

"It's almost done. He yesterday [Thursday] didn't do training, today [Friday] he didn't do training.I don't know the last details of the contract, but I think it's almost there."
