Artist Steve Gulbis captured the magic of Michael Thomas' winner as a comic book.

All the thrills and spills of Arsenal's nerve-jangling 1988-89 First Division title victory have been captured in a new documentary movie called "89."

Going into the last game of the campaign, the Gunners travelled to Anfield to take on Liverpool in a titanic clash, knowing that a 2-0 win would see them crowned league champions.

Having gone a goal ahead shortly after half-time, it took until the 91st minute for Arsenal to seal the deal when Michael Thomas prodded a shot past Bruce Grobbelaar to clinch the silverware with the final kick of the season.

As part of the documentary celebrations, Thomas' goal has also been further immortalised in a brilliant comic strip by illustrator Steve Gulbis, otherwise known as "The Football Artist."

Gulbis, who has provided the artwork for Shoot magazine since the 1990s, has created an excellent frame-by-frame version of the title-winning strike in his trademark "Roy of the Rovers" aesthetic.

Excellent stuff. Why it's almost -- almost -- as beautiful as the real thing.
