The Flying Eagles of Nigeria maintained their winning run as the countdown to the second leg of their 2017 Africa Youth Championship qualifiers game against Burundi draws near. Hot on the heels of their 5-0 win over NNL side Shekarau babes, they thumped Amakson Academy 3-0 thanks to a brace from Arsenal target Samuel Chukwueze and an own goal.

It took the Flying Eagles a while to get going as most of the regulars were rested in the first half which ended 0-0 much to the disappointment of the coach of Nigeria U-20s Emmanuel Amuneke.

Amuneke apparently unsatisfied with the display brought on the same team that defeated Burundi 1-0 in Bujumbura in the second half and they confirmed their ratings as the spine of the team.

A quick fire brace from Arsenal target Samuel Chukwueze who also scored a brace against Shekarau Babes was followed by an own goal as the Flying Eagles coast to a comfortable win.

They will travel to Calabar on Sunday, where they will defend their 1-0 lead against Burundi in nine days time in the race to be at next year Africa Youth Championship to be hosted by Zambia.
