Arsenal coach Mikel Arteta promotes promising Nigeria Player to first team
Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta promoted promising U15 goalkeeper Owen Asemota to first team training this week.
Arsenal youth team insider Jeorge Bird first reported the news that Asemota was involved in first team training on Tuesday, January 31.
As Revealed on there official website that the Hale End prospect is eligible to represent the Nigerian national teams through his father.
It has been a whirlwind few days for the Anglo-Nigerian as he was invited to train with the first team stars three days after receiving his first call-up for a competitive U18 fixture.
Asemota was a reserve option for Arsenal's U18 Premier League match against Fulham on January 28.
He is not eligible to sign scholarship forms with Arsenal until July 1, 2024.
Asemota will be hoping to follow in the footsteps of Hale End Academy products, goalkeepers Arthur Okonkwo and Ovie Ejeheri, who rose through the ranks before making their debuts for Arsenal's development squad.
Currently a schoolboy, Asemota has been invited to an England U15 training camp in the past.
