Ghana clawed back to draw 1-1 with Dutch Eredivise side SC Camburr in a pre-Nations Cup friendly played in Spain on Thursday.

Camburr, who finished seventh on the league table before the winter break, drew first blood through Daniel di Ridder.

The former Wigan player curled in a sweet ball past goalkeeper Razak Brimah on 16 minutes.

But the Black Stars kept on pushing and dominating play with a new 3-5-2 formation being introduced by coach Avram Grant.

Cambuur went into the break with a solitary lead but Ghana came back revitalized with the same set-up.

Ghana pushed hard and on the hour mark their perseverance paid off when Andre Ayew leveled.

The Olympique Marseille star got the equalizer with a fine header.

Later, there was a bit of injury scare for the West Africans when midfielder Emmanuel Agyemang-Badu picked up a slight knock and had to be replaced by Afriyie Acquah.

Both sides put up a good performance but there was no winner at the Cartaya Stadium

Ghana have planned to play German Bundesliga side Freiburg on Wednesday, 14 January before leaving for Mongomo for the Nations Cup.

The four-time African champions begin their tournament on 19 January against Senegal before entertaining Algeria and South Africa.

Ghana’s line-up:

Razak Brimah-Harrison Afful, Baba Rahman/Frank Acheampong, Awal Mohammed, Jonathan Mensah, John Boye/David Accam, Daniel Amartey/Christian Atsu, Emmanuel Agyemang-Badu/Afriyie Acquah, Asamoah Gyan, Jordan Ayew/Mubarak Wakaso and Andre Ayew/Kwesi Appiah.

Its always difficult for a national team to beat a club side because of teamwork and consistency.Again the coach was trying a different formation.ie 3-5-2.Lets be patience because I sense something good will occur in Equitorial Guinea.
