Amuneke tips Enyimba to shock Zamalek
Flying Eagles coach, Emmanuel Amuneke, has tipped Enyimba to beat top Egyptian side Zamalek in Sunday’s CAF Champions League Group B opener in Port Harcourt. Amuneke who featured for the Egyptian club Zamalek as a left winger between 1991 and 1994 admitted that Zamalek is a big that is very organized, but was quick to add that the club is beatable. “Enyimba have to work hard, believe in themselves and the players have to be ready for the competition. They have to compete and not just be happy they qualified for the group stage,” Amuneke told Africanfootball.com. “It won’t be easy, but Zamalek is beatable. Enyimba just have to minimise their errors and take their chances,” Amuneke added. The Nigerian champion is drawn alongside Zamalek, Entente Setif of Algeria and South Africa’s Mamelodi Sundowns in the money-spinning group stage of the Champions League. Meanwhile, Amuneke says despite having just two games left to qualify for AFCON 2017 U 20 Nations Cup, the Flying Eagles still have a long way to go to secure a place in the tournament. The Nigeria U20 made it to the final qualifying round for the competition after their 3-1 triumph over Burundi. Amuneke not counting his chicks before the eggs were hatched said he believes there’s still a long way for them to go before they will qualify. “We still have a long journey ahead of us to qualify for the Cup of Nations,” he said. “The result we got against Burundi was good but that is not all. We have to think about Sudan and realise that we have a long way ahead of us.” Nigeria are the defending champions of the U20 Cup of Nations, having won it the last time in Senegal
