Nigeria's U-20 side, the Flying Eagles, travelled to Sudan this morning  for the first leg of their Africa U-20 Cup of Nations final round qualifying fixture without key forward,  Funsho  Bamgboye.

Eighteen players led by head coach Emmanuel Amuneke and officials of the Nigeria Football Federation left the Nnamdi Azikwe Airport, Abuja for Omdurman Thursday morning aboard an Ethiopia Airline plane for the encounter.

Bamgboye, one of the key players in the squad, was the only notable star left out of the squad by coach Amuneke.

Other regular members like goalkeeper Akpan Udoh, skipper Kelechi Nwakali, reliable hitman Victor Osimhen and Samuel Chukwueze were in the travelling party.

The game which was earlier scheduled to take on Friday have been postponed to Sunday on  the request of the hosts.

The Flying Eagles who won the last edition of the competition in Senegal beat Burundi 3-1 on aggregate in the previous round. They beat City Strikers handled by former Flying Eagles player Peter Ogaba 2-1 in their last test game on Tuesday in Abuja.
